Strategic Broker Leader (SBL)

The SBL will contribute to actively managing, expanding and acquiring client and broker relationships and working with the London & Regional Underwriting teams to profitably grow the UK book of business.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
1. Being part of a team of Strategic Broker Leaders (SBLs) to actively manage and expand broker relationships. The primary purpose is to accelerate profitable sales growth and retention by supporting underwriting in achieving their profitability targets.
2. Play an active role in transitioning our UK Business and its performance in a rapidly changing marketplace.
3. Working with our Global, Strategic and London Market broker partners.
4. Support the market strategy for the UK Business working collaboratively with multiple stakeholder groups.
5. Support the global broker strategy, working with the global broker management team to ensure consistency across the different geographies.
6. Through marketing efforts and the delivery of high quality and original solutions, enhance the reputation of AXA XL Network.
7. Develop and lead growth synergies with our Broker Partners, aligning broker needs with AXA XL expertise and appetite.
8. Understand and articulate the AXA XL proposition and encourage innovative and customized solutions to our end customers' risk management needs.
9. The role holder is required to work with underwriters to retain and grow their books of business while maintaining the highest levels of account service.
10. The role holder is required to lead the negotiation and tracking of all in scope broker partner services as outlined within both business facility arrangement and UK and global agreements.
11. The role is responsible for strengthening the quality and depth of relationship with AXA XL brokers and, in so doing, develop a pipeline of opportunities for AXA XL underwriting units.
12. Champion X-sell: Effectively support the cross-sell process to increase product density. Understand the appetite of each line of business and encourage the sharing of opportunities across business lines.
13. Deliver One AXA: Maximize opportunities with the broader AXA Group businesses to provide overall client solutions and revenue synergies to the business.
14. In addition, to follow the metrics and reporting for management and monitoring of BDLs’ performance for all of the above.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
1. Having the experience to contribute to the strategic development of the UK business and its client and broker functions.
2. Proven Sales and Marketing skills: Extensive marketing and sales skills including presentation, development, communication and negotiation.
3. Global Insurance market knowledge: Significant experience of underwriting and insurance operations experience, broking, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. Technical Expertise: Good insurance background with knowledge of risk managed programmes – particularly use of captives. Understanding of global programme structures and financial and operational efficiency.
5. Influencer and Collaborator: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with other internal leaders, clients, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters and legal counsel. Provide guidance and seek input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible.
6. Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and influencing skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of sophistication. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently juggle numerous concurrent responsibilities.
7. Results Oriented: Approach tasks proactively and anticipate needs. Think quickly and prioritize multiple work streams without sacrificing quality. Act with a sense of urgency.
8. Continuous Improvement Focused: Willing to ask questions and explore new ideas. Eager to learn and focused on continuously improving technical skills and capabilities.
