Administrator/Business Support Officer - Local Authority Location: BR1 3UH Job Type: 3-month temporary contract with potential for extension Start Date: ASAP Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:45 - 17:00 (36 hours per week) Pay Rate: £12.85 per hour We are seeking an Administrator/Business Support Officer to join the Children's Services department of a Local Authority based in Bromley. Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly, courteously, and professionally to all enquiries, utilising the Council's IT systems. Actively listen to customer needs, assess them accurately, and provide the most up-to-date information. Handle inbound and outbound communications, including phone calls, emails, in-person enquiries, letters, and faxes. Accurately process transactions (debtors/creditors), update systems, and undertake banking tasks when required. Manage bookings, process associated paperwork, and ensure timely follow-ups to meet customer needs. Generate documents and reports using IT systems to support internal and external requests.Skills and Experience: Excellent communication skills for interacting with a wide range of customers, both face-to-face and via other channels. Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport and quickly assess customer needs. Familiarity with IT, telephony, and related systems for efficient service delivery. Previous experience handling high volumes of telephone calls in a public or private sector environment.
