This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and engaging individual to join our school, assisting the Director of Rugby to implement and lead the overall strategic direction of rugby across the school (students aged 8-18), whilst supporting the development of Bristol Bears academy players to achieve their highest potential in this exciting new partnership with the school.
You will be involved in all aspects of an ambitious and rapidly-evolving rugby provision, assisting with the implementation of an exciting development plan that covers the whole school programme whilst embedding further aspects of our formal pathway with Bristol Bears. You will be a lead performance coach in the school, driving alignment and performance standards in our Prep School to deliver a consistent programme of student athlete development from ages 8 to 18. You will also strengthen links between Taunton School and other rugby organisations including local clubs.
To be successful in this role you will have relevant coaching qualifications coupled with a genuine passion for rugby, and demonstrable experience in coaching rugby at a high level, or having played rugby at a prominent level. In addition, you will be a team player with a positive “can do” attitude, flexible approach, and excellent interpersonal skills. An ability to engage and motivate student athletes irrespective or age, gender, ability or experience is essential in succeeding in this role.
Previous experience within an educational setting would be an advantage but is not essential.

The role is full time, term time only to include evenings and weekends plus additional holiday work (up to 4 weeks) with Bristol Bears and wider support of pre-season/enrichment rugby camps. It is a permanent role with Taunton School, and an initial 1-year fixed term contract with Bristol Bears.
