Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a mainstream primary school setting in Chadwell Heath. The successful candidate will work in a specialized unit that caters to up to 12 children with very complex needs across various ages of primary education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to children with very complex special educational needs.
2. Assist in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum appropriate to the individual needs of each pupil.
3. Support the class teacher with lesson planning and classroom management.
4. Offer personal care to pupils, including support with toileting and other hygiene needs.
5. Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
6. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor the progress of students.
Requirements:
7. Experience working with children with very complex special educational needs.
8. Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum (desirable).
9. Ability to provide personal care and manage the needs of pupils who are not fully toilet trained.
10. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
11. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
12. Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
