Description Job Purpose: The Global Vertical Solution for Logistics holds the primary responsibility of shaping and implementing a comprehensive vertical strategy within Perishables, ensuring alignment with industry trends and supply chain management best practices. By leveraging their expertise, the specialist actively contributes to the development of end-to-end solutions, utilizing data-driven insights and collaborating with the solution engineering team to enhance thought leadership and drive sales. They play a vital role in supporting key account management, acting as a subject matter expert to provide tailored solutions and contribute to the overall coordination and management of key account teams. Key Accountabilities: Vertical Strategy Development: The specialist is responsible for formulating and implementing a comprehensive vertical strategy, focusing on staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain management within the [sector]. End-to-End Solutions Expertise: The specialist plays a pivotal role in analyzing logistics data, identifying optimization opportunities, and spearheading the development of fit-for-purpose end-to-end solutions. Collaborating closely with the solution engineering team, they contribute to the creation of innovative products that drive thought leadership and sales. This includes: Supporting the solutions engineering team in building a process database with productivity standards for a vertically integrated solution from farm to fork, Supporting our Property development team with specifications to develop new assets: packing stations, short sea solutions, fruit terminals, food processing facilities, coldstores, shuttle services to deliver food wholesale markets. Current activities include, but are not limited to: Packaged food: Import/export and domestic services for packaged food, within multiple temperature ranges (ambient, chiller, freezer) and verticals (confectionery, dairy and cheese, bakery, ice cream etc.) Bulk meat and fish: Blast freezing, import/export and domestic coldstore services for slaughterhouses fish farms, fish harvesting fleets, fish importers and trading companies Upstream Bulk produce: pre-cooling services for crops coming in from orchards and farms Downstream Bulk produce: our services may be extended in the future to produce packing and other Value-Added Services in a Seaport fruit terminal E-commerce: freezer / chiller / cooler fulfilment for perishables Quick Service Restaurants: domestic warehouse fulfillment and distribution Retail: vendor consolidation and fulfilment for orders placed by domestic and overseas distribution centers of retailers Key Account Management Support: Acting as a subject matter expert, the specialist supports key account management by providing insights for end-to-end solutions tailored to customers' needs. They actively contribute to the coordination and management of key account teams, ensuring seamless service delivery. This includes effective customer relationship management and customer retention, for instance supporting: The preparation of QBRs, Service Level Agreement updates, Continuous improvement initiatives, KPI development and management, Contract renewals, Cross-selling and upselling efforts Thought Leadership and Training: The specialist actively promotes thought leadership within the vertical by conducting training sessions and organizing customer events. They represent the company at industry conferences, showcasing expertise. Collaborating closely with marketing and communications, they develop distinct collaterals and PR materials that effectively highlight the unique offerings of vertical solutions. This also includes supporting the Solution engineering team and operations in developing user manuals in English and conducting training Leading the part of the Solutions Design team to develop CL business across DP WORLD GROUP. Develop team and colleagues in knowledge and skills to enable successful outcomes of the projects, which typically involve warehouse-, transport-, and/or supply chain (re)design Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time-bound Qualifications, skills and experience: 10 years of hands-on experience directly related to the responsibilities outlined in the job description. Highly desirable: Insider knowledge and/or prior interaction with companies in the Produce, Seafood, Meat & proteins, Dairy, Pastry, Retail and Quick Service Restaurant industries. Experience with refrigerated ocean / air / land transport, cold storage Interaction with solution designers and Property development teams, including the design of packing stations, short sea services, fruit terminals, cold stores Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, engineering, business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. MBA preferred. Extensive experience (10 years) in agrifood, logistics and supply chain management, with a specific focus on developing and implementing logistics strategies within the technology industry and related sectors. Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective logistics and supply chain strategies, resulting in tangible contributions to business growth and profitability. Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to work with large datasets related to technology supply chain operations. Track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence within a logistics context. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex logistics concepts to non-logistics stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience in implementing Lean methodology and driving continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations. Familiarity with logistics technology, including transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. commonly used in the technology industry.
