Key Requirements of the role
Responsibilities
Client Liaison: Engage with clients to understand and discuss their design requirements, ensuring their vision is accurately captured, in meetings, on the phone and in video calls.
Council Liaison: Communicate and coordinate with the local council to ensure all planning permissions are secured.
Planning Applications: Prepare and submit planning applications in line with regulatory standards.
Instructing Engineers: Coordinate with Structural Engineers to ensure the structural integrity of designs.
Reviewing Drawings: Assess building regulation drawings to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the design delivery team, including CAD Designers and Engineers, to ensure seamless project execution.
Site Visits: Occasionally visit clients’ homes to assess sites and discuss projects. A valid driving licence and access to a car are mandatory.
Experienced Needed
Track record of designing residential home extensions in the UK.
Following planning policy when guiding homeowners on their extension design.
Managing multiple projects at the same time and prioritising as required.
Working directly with the homeowner whilst delivering excellent customer service.
Reviewing technical specifications for building regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Confidence in working with a CRM.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.
Minimum 5 years designing residential design projects.
Strong understanding of Planning Policy and Building Regulations related to home extensions.
Degree level qualification or equivalent in Architecture or the Built Environment.
