We are looking for talented and driven individuals to join our Specialist Liability team!
About Admiral Law
Admiral Law is a growing business; we are a legal practice run by a team of experts who specialise in personal injury claims. The customer is always at the heart of everything we do, and we aim to be exceptional in the service we deliver.
Admiral Law operates as a standalone entity within Admiral Group and operates as a team with appropriate specialists but with the added support and benefits of being part of the wider business.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating an excellent service for our customers.
The Specialist Liability Team
The Specialist Liability team doesn’t just deal with road traffic accidents but rather deals with an array of different accident types including Employers liability, Public Liability, Occupiers Liability, Animal Act Claims and vulnerable road users.
This is a fee earning role and you will be responsible for running your own case load. Your caseload will comprise a mixture of liability admitted and denied cases, with potential to be of significant value. You will run the files from initial call with our client right through to settlement. You will also have the opportunity to issue Part 7 claims as this team also litigates their own claims.
You will be responsible for investigating liability, offering excellent client care and ensuring that all aspects of the client’s injuries and losses are maximised. You will always act in the best interests of your client, advancing the case proactively to a positive outcome for our client. Injuries may range from general orthopaedic injuries to varied investigations and medical reports; often your claims will have multiple medical experts instructed. Investigations into financial losses can often require detailed and specialist advice, and may range from employed loss of earnings, self-employed losses to ongoing treatment or care needs, amongst others. Don’t worry if you’ve not dealt with these losses before as you will have training alongside managerial support.
As the team sits within the SIT & Complex department, you will have opportunities to work closely with the Serious Injuries Team, often investigating and building a claim towards potential high settlement (i.e., over £25,000) at which point the claim will be transferred to SIT. You will have the opportunity to grow and develop through close links with solicitors and learn from their mentoring and buddying schemes.
Your Experience
* Previous Case Handling experience of running a Personal Injury claim and being able to review medical reports and value claims using JC Guidelines and case law is essential.
* Exceptional client care skills.
* Experience of Part 7 litigation is desirable, albeit not essential, as training can be given.
* Experience in handling EL/PL claims would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
Additional Information
You will be based in Ty Admiral in Cardiff City Centre, working core hours of 37.5 per week (part-time applications may apply). The role is one which aligns with our Smart Working model, meaning your weeks will be split both at home and in the office (minimum 1 day a week). At present, the team office days are every Monday. For any new starters, there is a minimum requirement of 1 month in-office training which will include your in-person induction and buddying with your new team. This may be extended to 3 months where necessary.
You will be provided with achievable targets (to include settlement and billing). Additionally, you will be expected to play your part in any marketing events, both internal and external. In addition, you will also be expected to mentor handlers in other areas of the business, assisting them with queries via face-to-face and team clinics, workshops and training opportunities.
Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance
At Admiral, we are proud to be a diverse business where we put our people and customers first. We have great benefits to ensure employees have a great work-life balance; it's one of the reasons we’re consistently voted one of the Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For in the UK.
All colleagues will receive 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) when they join us, and this will increase with length of service, up to a maximum of 38 days (including bank holidays). You also have the option to buy or sell up to five days of annual leave in addition to your allocation.
