The Grounds Team at the iconic St. George's Park are looking for a Grounds Person to help maintain all pitches across the site on a daily basis. Duties will include but are not limited to mowing with both pedestrian and ride on machines, white lining, fertilising, spraying, aeration work, general tractor work and any other jobs as instructed.
Maintenance of pitches includes preparation and repair for all pitch usage and general maintenance in between.
What will you be doing?
1. Maintain and prepare the pitches to relevant universal playing standards for all codes of sport hosted by SGP as agreed by bodies such as FA, UEFA, IRB, NFL and FIFA
2. Maintain training pitches to professional standard in accordance with Sports turf industry guidelines
3. Maintain surfaces to agreed standards by adhering to pre defined maintenance programs developed in conjunction with appointed industry consultants
4. Assist in maintaining all pitch equipment in line with manufactures standards to ensure optimum operation at all times
5. Work with Pitch Contractors to reinstate pitch as dictated by the event calendar
6. Operate all SGP grounds machinery to maintain the pitch to the highest standard
7. Support with the overall estates management and maintenance where required
8. Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
9. Consistently work collaboratively with all other members of the team along with other staff members from different departments.
10. Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
11. Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
12. As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

21. Competent in the use of ride on machinery. Including tractors.Attaching implements and machines to tractors including 3 point linkage and PTO.

22. Basic knowledge of irrigation.
23. Knowledge of and working on different types of pitch construction. Such as hybrid, reinforced, natural, artificial.
24. Knowledge of pitch grow lights.
25. Identification of turf diseases.
Experience
26. Working on football pitches at an elite level.

28. Use of renovation machinery.
29. Use of tractor mounted sprayers.
30. Regrinding of mower units.

Our Organisation

We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.
