Vehicle Technician

As a Vehicle Technician, youll be an essential part of our team, performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). Youll ensure our vehicles meet the highest safety and service standards, including those set by the DVSA. Additionally, youll handle maintenance/technician duties on a variety of plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities of the Vehicle Technician:
Ensure all work complies with DVSA requirements as outlined in their guide to roadworthiness and the MOT testers manual.
Diagnose, fault-find, and repair vehicles.
Road test vehicles (for HGV licence holders).
Assist with roadside breakdowns.
Complete and maintain accurate documentation and paperwork.
Record and repair all vehicle defects promptly.
Manage stock control, ensuring parts are booked to relevant vehicles/cost centres and replenished as needed.
Stay updated with new technology and products through training courses.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
Adhere to the Companys Health and Safety Policy.
Person Specification:
Minimum of 3 years experience in vehicle maintenance.
A full, clean driving licence.
Comprehensive understanding of DVSA requirements and the MOT testers manual.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Problem solving skills.
City in Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification.
HGV and Forklift Licence are desirable but not essential
