Reed Talent Solutions are working with United Utilities on the search for a Water Quality Officer to help United Utilities achieve its sampling commitments at their Davyhulme site.
In this role, you will manage and carry out the process of gathering samples for regulatory and operational purposes, including the undertaking of field testing activities in accordance with UKAS accreditation. You will carry out all field tests for DWI and EA in compliance with regulation standards, taking samples and conducting field tests to provide evidence to external stakeholders and regulators.
Samples are taken from all points from 'bath to bay’ and 'source to tap’ to include but not limited to process samples, compliance samples, environmental samples, mains repairs, customer complaints, incidents, and events. Upon collection, samples are transported (either directly or indirectly) to a laboratory for testing.

Role details:
* Job title: Water Quality Officer
* Location: Davyhulme WWTW, Rivers Lane, Urmston, Manchester, M41 7JB
* Contract: 6 months
* Hourly pay rate: £16.54 PAYE
* Working hours: 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday, standby on a frequency of 1 in 7 days, plus 1 in 8 weekends.
* Start date: ASAP

What you'll need to be successful in the role:
* Strong organisational skills for scheduling Water Quality Officer for a region's network.
* A high degree of social skills for working in a customer-oriented environment, experienced in dealing with difficult customers while providing information and advice to customer queries.
* Adaptability for learning systems and managing reactive work where required.
* Able to work on your own initiative with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Teamwork and communication skills will be integral to the role.
* UK driving licence.
