Salary: £13.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Shift patterns: 08:00-16:00 and 14:00-22:00
About the Role
The service provides vital support to vulnerable young adults, offering a range of accommodation and floating support options. As an Assistant Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with daily tasks, providing emotional and practical assistance to help them develop the skills needed for independent living. You will assist with managing referrals, planning and conducting assessments, and liaising with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the service users.
The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as you will be expected to participate in meetings, provide information when needed, and maintain effective email communication with external professionals. This position is ideal for someone who is adaptable, quick to learn, and eager to contribute within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in managing referrals and assessments for new service users.
* Provide day-to-day support to young people, helping them with practical tasks such as managing appointments, budgeting, and accessing services.
* Participate in professional meetings, offering timely information and insights.
* Maintain effective communication with external partners via email and other platforms.
* Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services.
Skills and Experience Required
* Strong IT skills, particularly in managing email communications.
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in managing referrals and conducting assessments.
* Confidence in engaging in professional meetings and providing on-the-spot information.
