Job Description
As a Senior Practitioner in our Assessment Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the learning and development of others, support newly qualified social workers, supervise family support workers, act as a practice assessor for students, or contribute to training activities in a specialist area.
This role is ideal for an established social worker seeking growth within a supportive local authority environment, with opportunities for career progression into management roles.

Responsibilities
* Undertake assessments, determine care packages/support plans, and manage complex caseloads to support children and young people's well-being.
* Mentor and support colleagues professionally.
* Plan, deliver, and oversee interventions for complex cases, reviewing cases as appropriate.
* Collaborate with internal and external agencies to support children's interests.
* Ensure operational support and delivery of assessment services for children in need or at risk.
* Work directly with children and young people, with situations that may involve personal liberty and safety risks.
* Gather and exchange information with colleagues and external providers, and represent the Council at multi-agency meetings.
* Maintain Social Work England registration.
* Be eligible to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving license.
* Possess post-qualified experience and a degree in Social Work or equivalent.
