ROLE SUMMARY
Ivy House School thrives as a distinguished, co-educational, and non-denominational school, for boys and girls aged 2-11, nestled within the green spaces of Golders Hill Park in Hampstead. Ivy House is looking for an experienced Peri Piano and Singing Teacher to join the school at the beginning of the summer term from 22nd April 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
* To teach stimulating and challenging lessons according to the timetable, that bring out the best in pupils at any stage of their musical development, from beginner level to the most advanced pupils at any stage of their musical development, from beginner level to the most advanced pupils who wish to pursue musical studies
* To be able to differentiate work and set challenges in line with each pupils ability ensuring they meet their highest potential - whilst taking account any children who have Special Educational Needs
* To prepare pupils for exams termly concerts and performances as appropriate
* To monitor record and report on pupils' progress, including weekly feedback in a music notebook through the Involve app
* To attend concerts in which the pupils will perform (when possible)
* To be a good role model and demonstrate high standards to pupils
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* A diploma/music degree in the relevant field
* A professional teaching qualification
* Previous experience of teaching children between the ages of 4-11
* Experience in teaching a range of musical styles and leading ensembles
* Experience of preparing children for music exams
* A good knowledge of pedagogy
* Exemplary written, organisational and IT skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills whilst engaging with staff pupils and parents
* A team player that is able to work in a diverse team
* Positive, enthusiastic and energetic with a sense of humour
