Interim Commissioning Officer

Basic DBS disclosure required for this role
Full UK driving licence required
Hybrid working with an exemption of 1 day a month in the office
Key Requirements:
Knowledge of key national issues & programmes relevant to client group and specified outcome/service area.
Experience of commissioning projects including undertaking needs assessment for commissioning purposes, performance management and monitoring and review reporting, with a focus on children’s services.
Experience of using management information, needs assessment for commissioning, performance management and monitoring and review reporting.
Experience of service development, options appraisal and system change using demonstrable programme
Management skills including financial management.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
The purpose of the role is to contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of commissioning plans to deliver the Council's strategic and operational direction for children and young people, with a special focus on SEND and Alternative Education Provision.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the joint commissioning agenda to improve delivery and outcomes of commissioned services.
Contribute to the development and implementation of commissioning plans that address sufficiency issues within SEND and Alternative Provision.
Contribute to reports on progress against identified objectives.
Provide support to commissioning managers who have responsibility for producing and reviewing strategies related to children’s services.
