Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Stroud, GL5
Start Date: January 7th
Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary with the view to go permanent

The Role:
The Mental Health Support Worker will play a crucial role in providing 1-1 and general classroom support to individuals with complex needs. Your aim will be to facilitate their learning, personal growth and emotional resilience. You will be an integral part of a team that champions inclusivity and works tirelessly to ensure that every individual receives the highest standard of support.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored 1-1 support to individuals with PMLD, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs and goals.
2. Offer general classroom support, assisting with the creation and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
3. Collaborate with teachers, therapists and parents to implement individual care plans/EHCPs.
4. Promote the mental well-being of students by providing empathetic support and encouraging self-esteem and independence.
5. Monitor and report on the progress of individuals, maintaining accurate records and contributing to reviews and assessments.
6. Assist with the development and use of appropriate resources and materials to support learning and development.
Requirements:
1. Experience in supporting individuals with SEND/SEMH.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport with students and staff.
3. A compassionate and patient approach, with a commitment to promoting dignity and independence.
4. The ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations.
5. Must be eligible to work in the UK and subject to enhanced DBS checks.

Additional Information:
1. Hours: 8:30am – 3:00pm.
2. Roles: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
3. Pay: £83.40 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
4. This role is initially temporary with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
