Location: March, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 per annum
Schedule: Monday to Friday with weekend availability
Our client is looking for an experienced Flooring Installer to join their family-run team where youre more than just a number.
The Role
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in flooring installation and a good all-rounder with a focus on LVT. You would also need to be comfortable with subfloor preparation, experience in safety flooring, herringbone patterns and border work. You will also need to possess the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires attention to details, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to follow schematics accurately. The Flooring Installer will be responsible for ensuring that all flooring projects are completed to the highest standards, enhancing the aesthetic appeal and functionality of spaces.
Key Responsibilities
* Measure and prepare areas for flooring installation, ensuring accurate dimensions and layouts.
* Install a variety of flooring materials, including carpet, laminate, vinyl and hardwood.
* Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively to cut and fit flooring materials.
* Apply adhesives or other bonding agents as required for different types of flooring.
* Perform necessary repairs or adjustments to existing flooring as needed.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
* Follow safety protocols while operating tools and working on-site.
* Maintain an organised work area, ensuring that all tools and materials are stored properly after use.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Flooring Installer, particularly LVT (5 years minimum).
* Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to flooring installation.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics for accurate installation processes.
* Skills in subfloor preparation, including using smoothing compounds and DPMs.
* Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on delivery high-quality workmanship.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Willingness to assist in other areas of the business when needed.
* A valid drivers licence.
