Summary What you'll do Our supported and temporary housing team really gets to the heart of social housing, providing homes to some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in our communities. Working independently or in support of the Quality, Development, and Performance Lead and with colleagues, stakeholders, and external suppliers, you will plan and deliver a diverse set of simultaneous projects for Supported and Temporary Housing. This will include being the 'go-to person' for leasehold-specific policy and procedure, including and especially Section 20 consultations. Further, and with a natural desire to learn and share your knowledge, you will conduct research to apprise colleagues of significant happenings within the supported housing sector and to help us maintain and publicise our policies and procedures. Among other things, you will be responsible for project support across the department, reporting on programme management, and providing specialist support to our older people's leasehold team in particular. Additionally, you will be called upon to deliver training and facilitate workshops with resident-facing colleagues to ensure they remain attuned to best practise and abreast of internal system change (including leading and co-ordinating super-user groups for our internal case management system, Workwise). How you'll do it Our services and homes are spread across London and Essex, and, although the role will be frequently office-based with provision for some home-working, the ideal candidate will not be fazed by the requirement to physically visit our residents and colleagues out in the their communities, when required. You will: Assist operational teams to deliver section 20 consultations for retirement leasehold residents. Oversee and update departmental policies and procedures to ensure legislative and industry good practice requirements are met. Assist in the research for and preparation of departmental and corporate responses to policy consultations as required. Embed learning across the operational teams by supporting the creation of training materials and assisting the delivery of training sessions to colleagues. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification. Knowledge of the sector and the support needs associated with sheltered, supported and temporary housing will be helpful, and in-depth knowledge of regulation and legal processes relating to leases (for example, managing s.20 consultations) is essential. However, the ideal candidate will add to this with an unerring desire to 'do the right thing', be known for their strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences. For this role you'll have experience of project administration, be proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and be able to pick up new systems and processes with ease. Given the responsibilities of the role, you will also need to demonstrate good written English and mathematic abilities. Essential: An awareness of the relevant leasehold and supported housing legislation Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders in a customer focused environment. Experience of drafting and reviewing operational policy and procedure and of providing training on these.
