At Totally Local Company an opportunity has arisen for an Street Lighting Electrician who possess’ a professional demeanour, sound judgement and integrity to join our Streetlighting team.
You will be responsible for site safety and to ensure compliance in all relevant CDM and health and safety legislation.
Duties & Responsibilities
To carryout installation and maintenance of new and existing street lighting apparatus and other electrical work carried out by Totally Local Company Ltd. To issue the appropriate electrical certification as and when required. To provide accurate information of completed work.
* To receive work instructions from either the Supervisor Manager and/or higher graded personnel
* To identify and understand the task to be undertaken.
* To formulate the correct approach, to carry out the task in a safe and effective manner, with regard to Health and Safety and other relevant legislation.
* To assess the correct quantities and specification of materials and plant required to complete the task
* To use all equipment and machinery effectively, efficiently in accordance with safe working practices, including driving, and operation of company vehicles and plant.
* To use all materials in accordance with safe working practices, including manual handling, and the COSHH Regulations.
* To keep all materials, plant equipment and vehicles, secure from theft and damage
* To complete the works required, within the given timescales and agreed performance levels.
* To report any faults with plant, equipment or machinery, to the Supervisor Manager
* To fully participate in operational staff training and development programmes.
* To maintain good working relationships with the general public and deal with any minor queries or complaints and to relay any significant customer issues to the Supervisor Manager, for further action.
* To work outside normal working hours, if the business need arises.
* Must carry-out Call-Out Duties (with appropriate stand by pay and hourly call out rate additions)
* To work flexibly in the interests of the business, this may include undertaking other duties provided that these are appropriate to the employee’s background, skills, abilities and training and including working outside the Borough of Stockport.
* To complete all work Tickets appropriate to the work undertaken (Electronic or Paper)
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
* Competent in Street lighting electrical installation and understanding of Street lighting circuits
* Must be able to work at heights
* Competent in the use of hydraulic platforms
* Competent in the Knowledge of H/S at work Regulations
* Electrical Installation Certificate NVQ Level 3, or Equivalent
* Part “P” in Electrical Installation
* Good written and oral communication
* Must be able to prioritise workload and work on own initiative
* Effective team player
* Understands and actively supports TLC diversity and equality policy
* Driving Licence
* Effective Team Working
