Senior Staff Nurse - A & E Paediatrics INTERNAL ONLY (Secondment)
INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY (Secondment Opportunity) The role will involve working as part of the Emergency Department Paediatric Team on a daily basis, which includes working alongside band 7s, 6s, 5s, and play leaders. Providing high quality and efficient care for children attending the Emergency Department. You will also be required to arrange/perform investigations on patients as well as working closely with the Paediatric team within the hospital. The Emergency Department is open 7 days per week and you will be required to work a variety of shifts. This is a busy department which has undergone significant changes and we welcome applicants who are experienced registered nurses with experience in working in an Acute Paediatric setting or Emergency Department with excellent clinical skills.
Main duties of the job

Be dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic with a very high standard of clinical practice and must have band 5 experience in the Emergency Department or Acute setting. You will need to have excellent clinical skills, be adaptable to change, and be able to complement and support the existing team of nurses and doctors. At interview, you must be able to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge as well as knowledge of current healthcare initiatives. Job responsibilities
Assesses the needs of patients/families and carers; plans, delivers, and evaluates high standards of evidenced-based nursing care. Demonstrates concise, accurate, timely record keeping, including both written and electronic records. Displays excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations. Practices in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Councils Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses and midwives and Trust policies, protocols, and guidelines. Is accountable for own practice and for appropriate delegation of care he/she gives to colleagues, nursing support workers, and students. Recognises deterioration in the physical or mental condition of the patient and takes timely action, appropriately referring to others or working with other agencies as required. Recognises, responds to, and appropriately manages emergency situations.
