Job overview
Farndale Ward is a busy 23 bedded Acute Medical Unit. Nutritional assistants are vital in helping patients with their diet and nutrition to help them get better. This position will involve supporting patients with their dietary needs and referring to Dieticians as needed.
We are looking for Nutritional Assistants with:
* an interest in science and food
* an interest in people and their lifestyles
* a positive and motivating attitude
You do not need to have experience in this role as we will provide you with all the information you require, but care experience is preferred.
Main duties of the job
You will be:
* Helping patients to choose their meals
* Assisting patients with meals and drinks
* Referrals to Dieticians and Speech and Language Team
* Weighing patients
* Any other Care Support Assistant tasks as required
* Ordering catering supplies for the ward

Qualifications
* Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent
* Care Certificate or required to undertake Care Certificate and complete within 12 weeks (pro rata for part time)
* NVQ level II in Health and Social Care
* Food hygiene certificate
Experience
* Previous experience of working within a caring profession
* Previous experience of working in a caring environment involving food, catering, nutrition
