Salary: NJC Grade 3 SCP 4
Hours: 20 hours a week
Fixed-Term until 31.8.2025
To start: 9th December 2024 (pending pre-employment checks including a valid DBS certificate).
The Governing Body of Llanfabon Infants School is seeking to appoint a hardworking and experienced Caretaker to work as part of a small, friendly, hard-working team. Work pattern will be split shifts in term time. Hours of work will be 7.30am-9.00am and 3pm-5.30pm. During the school holidays there is flexibility to negotiate a straight through shift pattern. Annual leave will primarily need to be taken during the School holidays.
We are looking for a caretaker who is committed to the provision of maintenance and security on our school premises. We require someone who is able to build strong professional relationships with staff and children and is dedicated to ensuring that our school is a well presented and orderly working environment. The successful candidate will have health and safety responsibilities including maintaining the school building and grounds in a safe condition and working in a safe manner.
The role includes key holder responsibility and the closing of the premises, other general duties e.g., checking good and supplies, emptying bins - ensuring refuse and recycling is stored safely and disposed of appropriately. Undertaking any internal cleaning activities will be minimal i.e., emergency areas.
It is essential that the post holder is widely available and able to access the school quickly. It will therefore be an advantage to live near the school.
Although this is initially a fixed-term contract, there may be an opportunity to extend. There will also be occasions during the school year where additional hours may be offered e.g., school discos, school fayres, supervising contractors.
