* This role provides variety with time spent at the training centre, offshore and overseas and gives the trainer the opportunity to use their knowledge and skills to enhance others.
* Deliver training courses in accordance with the pre-determined syllabus for the course allocated, taking account of the requirements of all applicable legislation and the Company's HSEQ Management System.
* Supervise delegates throughout practical training sessions ensuring all exercises are conducted in a safe and professional manner.
* On completion of theoretical and practical training/assessment, compile individual delegate assessments ensuring that all relevant sections are completed and specific comments are detailed. Particular emphasis is placed upon this aspect as the report is subject to internal, client and HSE audit in the event of accident/incident.
* In addition, for offshore and overseas assignments, prepare detailed report on overall status of assignment for submission to Client along with individual reports.
* As first point of contact on offshore/overseas assignments promote to client, all services available through Sparrows Training Centre and Sparrows Offshore.
* Undertake perpetual review of revisions to legislation, ensuring that any amendments are brought to the attention of the SME rigging/lifting training & development, or Global Head - training, development & technical resources for incorporation within appropriate course syllabus material.
* Liaise with fellow Training Instructors/Assessors to provide ongoing support, strengthen fair play culture and engender team spirit.
* As a Competency Assessor conduct assessment in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate standards, liaising with the Internal Verifier to ensure that appropriate records of assessments are accurately recorded and maintained.
* Conduct pre-employment assessments of prospective Sparrows employees to ascertain the applicant's specific ability to meet the Company's pre-qualification criteria for theoretical and practical performance.
* Contribute to the planning and preparation of revised course material for training course delivery.
* The incumbent must adopt a co-operative attitude towards being assigned alternative or additional duties to that which they are primarily employed, thus ensuring the smooth running of the Training Centre facility and offshore assignments.
HSEQ Responsibilities
* It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with, and follows the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Management Systems.
* The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to the Management System processes/procedures.
* The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health, safety and/or environmental legislation to follow these.
* The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Qualifications & Experience OPITO Rigger Assessment (Stages 3 & 4)
* OPITO LCP Assessment/Re-Assessment
* Assessor Qualification (eg L&D9di, A1)
* Basic/Further Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training
* Minimum Industry Safety Training - CBT
* Proficient in Microsoft Applications Word, Powerpoint and Excel
* Ability to communicate effectively and engage with groups
* Ability to adapt and work towards learning new training materials/course delivery through continuous self-development.
