We currently have a vacancy in our Customs department where we carry out global customs requirements. We would ideally like the successful candidate to have some knowledge of customs and European & worldwide freight forwarding. This is a great opportunity for somebody looking for career development / change of direction. They would be joining the FIRST ever EO logistics company in the UK. The Role: Our Customs Clearance Operators will be required to liaise closely with our Operations team to ensure all relevant customs documents have been generated and I.T systems (both internal and external) are updated in a timely manner. Operational: Export and import declarations will need to be completed accurately within the required time frames, escalating any issues to their line manager. Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service and keeping internal and external customers and suppliers advised on declaration completion and confirming VAT and duty payments to customers when required. Spotting and reacting to any customs issues that might cause delay to a shipment. Administration: All VAT and duty invoices to be generated in our freight management system and emailed to customers. About you: You will be a self-starter with high levels of motivation to do a great job. Some knowledge of export & import customs is required. Basic entries into CDS and knowledge of the NCTS & Destin8 systems would be advantageous but not essential. It is essential that your work is highly accurate with a real eye for detail as data entry errors can be costly. Working for an Employee-Owned business requires its co-owners to be team players. Strong communication and organisational skills will be needed as will an ability to prioritise and manage high workloads at times.
