Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm (40 hours per week)
This is a thrilling chance for a seasoned NPD Technologist to become part of a dynamic, creative, and welcoming food product development team engaged in some fascinating projects. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with prominent food outlets, caterers, and retailers, gaining invaluable experience in taking new product development from initial concept to successful launch.
Accountabilities:
1. Co-ordinate and support food development sampling, preparation, and submission for new and existing customers from concept to launch.
2. Assist with the costing process and maintaining up to date seasonal product costing.
3. Contribute to food culture, be aware of food trends and identifying opportunities linked with groupwide business activities.
4. Support the NPD team on production trials ensuring a suitable match to kitchen/development samples.
5. Work closely with the customers to ensure the development of successful products that hit customer briefs.
6. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive project progress and meet company’s objectives.
7. Keep up to date on current trends and competitor analysis to help create new product development strategies.
8. Monitor customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement and development.
9. Assist in new raw materials/packaging sourcing.
10. Manage product timelines and resources to deliver new and existing products according to schedule.
11. Work cross-functionally with different departments and the wider group to meet requests from customers and manager.
12. Support any other relevant projects within the business or group.
To be successful in your application, you will need to be able to demonstrate:
1. Educated to a degree level ideally in food science, food technology or food science and nutrition.
2. Experience within a similar role in the food manufacturing industry.
3. Knowledge of Manufacturing/Catering NPD processes and procedures.
4. A high passion for food and flavours with an open approach to innovation, processes, and concepts.
5. Food Safety qualifications including HACCP.
6. Attention to detail & outstanding organisational skills.
7. Computer literate – good MS Office skills, including Excel.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Car owner/driver.
