Young people who have migrated from African communities are struggling in integration into the western society. We as a multi-ethnic community church are looking for a passionate, self-motivated, and advanced Religious Worker of East/West African origin who will work as a Church and Community Worker to support and guide our youth department for a smooth running.
Job Summary
1) Creating an environment and developing extracurricular activities for the youth to grow spiritually, morally, and socially.
2) Supporting relevant activities for the youth which focus on their West/East African cultures to build up their knowledge of their African origins.
3) Developing separate age appropriate weekly youth clubs with more concentration on assistance with their school projects such as science and mathematics.
Advantageous Skills
1. Fluent in Swahili or Akan (Twi) language and vast knowledge of the East/West African cultures.
2. Experience of working in a school or other educational context
3. Awareness of youth and cultural issues facing young people of East/West African origin.
4. Ability to maintain effective work relationships with counterparts from different cultural backgrounds.
5. Team player with the ability to get along well with people of different cultural background.
