Our client is a leading manufacturer, supplying into various types of sectors. They are looking for an experienced Design Engineer that has covered a wide range of developments regarding connectors, enclosures, automated machinery and further. In all, this could be a highly wide-ranging position for the successful candidate.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Delivery of Sustaining Engineering and NPD projects
* Creation and checking of CAD models and technical drawings
* Performing pertinent actions in SAP (Raising ECs, BOM creation etc)
* Owning all stages of allocated projects from conception through testing, verification and launch
* Development of products, taking into account all aspects of user experience, technical specification and production implications.
* Providing innovative solutions to engineering problems
* Work with Brand Management to develop project specification
* Actively involved in VOC of customers and markets
* Maintain reporting of project statuses and actively partake in meetings and discussions
* Take an active part in driving innovation and implementation of new technology in the products and the business
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Track record of delivering engineering projects in a high performance environment
* Strong communicator who is capable of building relationships with key decision makers
* Performance driven, focused on delivering excellent results in a timely fashion and to budget
* Analytical mindset, able to evaluate results and form conclusions in a methodical fashion
* Works well as a problem solver in group situations
* Experienced in the use of parametric CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor)
* Knowledge of industry design/drawing standards
* Exposure to designing for compliance with standards
* Previous MRP system exposure (particularly SAP) preferred but not essential
* Demonstrable design to value capability
