Job Description:
We are seeking to fill an exciting opportunity to join the Leonardo UK Strategy and Technology team as a Strategic Initiatives Manager. In this role, you will work with the Leonardo UK Capability and Innovation Director, their team, and other members of the Leonardo UK Management Team to deliver strategic objectives. The role offers a broad scope, providing varied and fast-paced activities that significantly contribute to Leonardo's UK operations across all sites and divisions.
The position is based in the wider London area with regular UK travel.
What you will do
* Build and utilize a trusted network across the company, engaging all levels of seniority, including externally seconded employees, to gather and analyze strategic capability development information.
* Facilitate meetings chaired by the Director, acting as the main point of contact to ensure agendas are comprehensive and timely, and that actions are recorded and completed.
* Prepare briefs for engagements, including all relevant information and key points requiring immediate attention.
* Create and compile presentations and speeches tailored to specific audiences for the Director.
* Assist the communications team with speech writing to ensure content effectively addresses the audience's interests and aligns with the Director's delivery style.
* Review requests received by the Director's office, providing summaries and recommendations to enhance response efficiency.
* Manage and enhance communication flows into and out of the Director's office, including feedback on how communications are received across the business.
* Track all actions assigned to and from the Director, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
* Provide on-site support for exhibitions and conferences attended by the Director.
* Maintain awareness of business activities across the company and monitor developments in the global defense industry and political environment.
* Ability to independently deliver small projects or work packages, demonstrating understanding and summarization of technical content from across the business.
