We are seeking a Head of Commercial to help establish and build a brand new commercial team with an established business in the manufacturing sector. About the Role: As the Head of Commercial you will collaborate with senior leadership to establish and lead a new commercial team, delivering strategic support across the business. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure commercial contracts are profitable and sustainable, while safeguarding the company's interests. This is a hands-on role that involves leading complex contract negotiations, managing risk, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities: Build and lead a high-performing commercial team for the manufacturing division, recruiting and developing top talent. Collaborate with the Chief Commercial Officer and Group Commercial Director to align team objectives with overall business strategy. Provide expert commercial and contractual guidance throughout the contract lifecycle, from pre-sales to contract termination. Lead and oversee complex negotiations, ensuring contracts meet both customer needs and internal risk management standards. Drive the development and implementation of effective commercial processes and best practices. Work closely with stakeholders across departments to improve existing contracts and commercial processes. Ensure commercial solutions align with overall business objectives and support profitability. Key Requirements: Proven track record in commercial leadership roles, ideally within the manufacturing sector or similar industries. Strong commercial acumen, with experience in contract negotiation, risk management, and commercial strategy development. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Exceptional communication skills, capable of working effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the business. Solid understanding of contract law and drafting, with the ability to create robust contractual terms. Financially savvy, with the ability to optimize contract profitability while managing business risks. Desirable Skills: Knowledge of the industry is a plus, but not essential.
