Nestled alongside the North Lake District and parallel to the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking for consultants who want a work-life balance whilst being at the forefront of innovation.
With Pears Cumbria School of Medicine opening in 2025, this partnership with Imperial College London is of such significance it sits within the NHS workforce plan. Working together, we are recruiting Honorary Senior Lecturers in a number of specialties. This is in addition to existing arrangements with the medical schools of Universities of Central Lancashire, Lancaster and Newcastle.
We have just opened the West Cumberland Hospital new build, as work progresses with a Community Diagnostic Hub in Workington and a new endoscopy suite at Cumberland Infirmary.
To deliver on this work, we are re-shaping our core consultant job plan offering to be 1.5 SPA core, up to 1.5 activities related to defined leadership, teaching or research roles and the remainder of the plan being DCC - essentially offering a 7:3 split for those on 10 PAs.
Main duties of the job
We are now welcoming applications for the role of Collaborative Chair within the Emergency Care Collaborative.
This is an 'up to full-time' appointment, including a leadership element, with the remainder of sessions worked within the clinical specialty.
To be successful you will have the skills, energy and enthusiasm to lead our clinical teams, and drive the change and innovation to help us deliver the best possible care. You will add a strong clinical voice to our leadership team and contribute to a culture which values professional excellence and enables our clinicians to be the best they can be.
