HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER – CREWE - £50,000 - £55,000 + BENEFITS
Due to continued success, we are working with a fantastic Crewe based manufacturing company with a global presence. A market leader in their industry, year on year they have experienced continual growth since they were established in 1990. We are looking to recruit an experienced Health Safety and Environmental Manager to join their team. Predominantly you will be based at the Crewe site but the role will require regular visits to their site in Leeds.

HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the UK Head of Operations, you will be responsible for defining, developing and implementing UK HSE plans and advising on the most appropriate plan of delivery.
HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Identify and lead initiatives and targets to improve HSE performance
2. Manage and support HSE officer based in Leeds
3. Implement the H&S policy across the UK
4. Implement new policies and procedures
5. Co-ordinate regular H&S meetings with senior management
6. Correctly record and investigate accidents and incidents in line with legislation
7. Implement necessary change to ensure all accidents/incidents are isolated and not repeated
8. Audit management systems and report findings
9. Advise senior management team of any upcoming legislation changes
10. Ensure 100% compliance at all times
11. Conduct risk assessments
12. Review and audit external contractors control measures
13. Set and maintain H&S budget
14. Develop and deliver training and inductions
15. Manage number of first aiders and fire wardens
HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER REQUIREMENTS
1. Experienced HSE professional with demonstrable experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
2. Relevant qualification e.g. NEBOSH and a chartered member of CMIOSH
3. Experienced in leading audits for OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001
4. Managing effective compliance
5. Focus on all H&S activities
6. Develop and co-ordinate project plans
7. Experienced in designing and delivering HSE communication
8. Develop activities at all levels
9. Able to travel regularly to their Leeds site
HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER PACKAGE
1. Working Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-4pm
2. £50,000 - £55,000
3. Annual bonus on achieving objectives
4. Christmas shutdown
5. On-site parking
6. 31 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
