Description We are looking to hire a Transport Team Manager working 4 on - 4 off on 12-hour shifts (18:00 am -06:00 pm) at our Wincanton Sainsbury depot, Greenford. This is a challenging operational role and represents a great opportunity for individuals who wish to build on a career in operational Management. The role will require you to lead a safety-first culture, manage the day-to-day Warehouse operations efficiently and effectively to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service to the customer. You will lead an allocated team of Warehouse Colleagues through actively demonstrating the behaviour and engagement standards required to make our customers business better every day aligned to the Wincanton Mission, Vision and Values. To manage the shift performance of the transport operation to consistently meet the requirements of the Client, in line with the agreed service strategy to their network. To manage all transport shift activities to ensure that budgetary/financial KPIs, and legislative/procedural and contractual commitments are met. To assist in developing a culture of continuous improvement to drive best-in-class activity and operational excellence, in line with PCDR objectives. To be accountable for the Health and Safety practices on site, particularly within the immediate area of responsibility, e.g., transport shift operations To ensure the transport shift operation operates in line with all Company and Client procedures. To escalate appropriate issues in line with agreed procedures To assist in driving the site’s culture programme To assist in ensuring that the transport operation’s continuity is planned and tested in the event of emergency situations. To establish reporting integrity of transport activity To be responsible for the effective recruitment, development, and motivation of the direct reports What will you bring? Experience within a similar role Knowledge of working in a fast-paced environment Competent on Microsoft packages Strong understanding of compliance relating to drivers Team leader or management experience is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of transport legislation is desirable but not essential. What do we offer?
