Job Purpose
* You will manage the county logistics team on a day to day basis, delivering a safe, cost-effective sludge logistics service to operations across United Utilities.
* While managing driver performance and their safety, you will ensure that sludge collection and delivery schedules are completed as required.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
You will have responsibility for the management of a total of 25 – 30 line reports in addition to framework contractors, and you will manage an annual OPEX budget of circa £2 million. You will be responsible for:
* Managing the area logistics team to ensure planned and reactive work is delivered.
* Managing and motivating a geographically spread team to operate efficiently as one to provide a service to the business in the region as a whole.
* Ensuring that the operation of vehicles and manpower resources comply with all working practices within current statutory legislation and company procedures.
* Ensuring sufficient resources of equipment and manpower to meet the operational demands of the business.
* Working closely with the Bioresource Production Planning Team to minimize expenditure and maximize energy production from sludge transportation and treatment.
