Job Details
Your new role
1. To monitor and review the stock valuation and ensure it's accurate and up to date for every month end so it's correct in the trial balance
2. Ensuring product data is updated and maintained in SAP from raw materials to finished goods.
3. Implementing a process for reviewing bills of materials for new and existing to ensure they are costed correctly.
4. Developing the reporting function of SAP in-line with the needs of the business, reporting KPIs and other data as the systems functionality is established.
5. Organising and monitoring the stock counts, then validating them and updating in SAP.
6. Liaising with auditors and providing information in a timely manner - internal and external - as required.
What you'll need to succeed
The Stock and Cost Accountant will hold a full accounting qualification (CIMA or ACCA) or be near to qualifying and ideally have experience of managing stock and costs in an ERP system. They will be responsible for the review and control of stock data in SAP, and alongside the other Cost Accountant and Finance Manager, they will be responsible for reviewing product costs and sales margins on a monthly basis to ensure they are accurate and up to date, and ensuring the data is flowing through to the general ledger correctly. They will be one of the points of contact for SAP issues, and the controller of all system data.
