Main duties of the job

In this pivotal role, you’ll work with the Senior People and Workforce Lead to take forward the core priorities and programmes of work to achieve the BSW workforce priorities and plan. This role offers a development opportunity for someone with workforce and/or education expertise looking to work with multiple stakeholders and sectors to develop sustainable and innovative workforce solutions that support our people.

BSW ICB have adopted agile working so this means the successful applicant will predominately be working from home but is likely to be requested to work in any one of the ICB’s office bases across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire approximately 4 days per month. You will also have a contractual base within the BSW ICB office where your team is based.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the programme management and oversight of workforce development and transformation programmes.
* Develop and implement workforce redesign and transformation projects aligned with the BSW People/Workforce Plan and regional/national workforce plans.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify workforce synergies and maximise resource use.
* Manage and oversee the performance of workforce priorities and outcomes.
* Provide specialist advice on workforce projects, including education, leadership and improvement.
* Ensure alignment of workforce development programmes with BSW models of care and the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan.
* Manage budgets for workforce programmes and support the commissioning of projects and procurement of services.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who is not only experienced but self-driven with a strong track record in planning and delivering projects. You’ll be working autonomously as part of a larger team committed to promoting collaboration, inclusion and excellence in everything we do.
Qualifications and experience:
* Master’s degree or equivalent or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
* Extensive knowledge of workforce redesign, transformation and development across health and social care.
* Experience working with education providers and commissioning education.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to manage budgets and financial processes.
* Proven ability to work in a highly political and sensitive environment.

Person specification
Knowledge, training and experience
* Educated to master’s level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
* Extensive knowledge of workforce redesign, transformation and development across health and social care.
* Extensive knowledge of education, working in partnership with education partners and commissioning of education.
* Evidence of planning and delivering programmes and projects and services on time.
