An exciting opportunity for an experienced Client Manager to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation based in Waterlooville, Hampshire.
As part of a highly energy team, you will play a crucial role, building relationships with a growing client portfolio and delivering key work. This role will be exceptionally exciting to a candidate looking to develop their career.
Duties will include:
1. To coach, train, develop and lead their team (4-5 direct reports).
2. To provide leadership and role-modelled behaviour (to our company values) to the accountancy team.
3. To perform relevant employees 1-2-1 meetings for a section of the accounting team.
4. To perform return to work interviews.
5. To support the Accountancy Manager with planning and monitoring the performance of the accountancy team's key performance measures e.g., weekly stats, timesheets etc.
6. To support the Accountancy Manager in developing internal systems and controls to ensure standards are met to support our company values as required.
7. To support the recruitment and interview process with the Recruitment Lead as required.
8. To manage the process of (and where required, directly carry out) preparing, sending and submitting accounts & tax returns for a portfolio of clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
9. To communicate with clients via phone, email, social media and in person, including chasing records.
10. To ensure all internal and statutory deadlines are met e.g. - HMRC, SLA etc.
11. To onboard new clients and integrate them into your portfolio - this will include bookkeeping, compliance etc to then be handed over to the relevant department.
12. To assess and advise clients on their tax position.
13. To optimise and plan the tax efficiency of clients.
14. To review and advise clients on advisory level which may include cashflow, budgets, pricing etc.
15. To review and/or prepare book-keeping, VAT returns and CIS where required.
16. To prepare and execute year end client meetings.
17. To carry out client fee reviews.
18. To instruct, mentor and manage accounting team members to carry out the above.
Applicants must possess:
1. Must be able to prepare accounts & tax returns for clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
2. Must hold membership to a professional body (does not need to be a chartered body).
3. Be confident in providing direct advice to clients. Sound tax knowledge is a must.
4. Be an effective communicator, able to communicate at all levels across the company and to clients directly.
5. Experience working in accounting practice within the last 2 years with at least 5 years accounting practice experience overall.
6. Good standard of verbal and written English.
7. Proficient IT skills (Excel & Word are essential).
8. A sound working knowledge of QuickBooks and Xero (desirable).
