Clerk to the GovernorsPart time, Grade SO1, Spine Point 23-25Hours: estimated approximately 150 hours across school year for meetings, admin support and trainingHourly rate: approximately £18.95 - £19.48 (plus pro rata holiday pay)The Governors of Trafalgar School's Federation wish to appoint a highly organised and self-motivated clerk to join this School. The post holder is accountable to the Governing body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors, the Headteacher and other Governors.The Clerk to the Governors will ensure the smooth running of the Governing Body; preparing Agendas and meeting papers, taking accurate and well-constructed minutes, giving administrative support, keeping records and up-to-date information on policies and date of reviews, and providing procedural and legislative advice to the Governing body. You must have excellent organisational skills, You should be professional, friendly and approachable and able to deal with confidential matters.The position is home based with meetings held in school in addition to relevant training, covering 4 full governing body meetings and 10 committee meetings are usually held on Tuesdays from 7.15 pm with one committee meeting on Thursdays from 8.15 am lasting up to two hours each. The Clerk is also expected to attend all relevant training events and training events and briefings. Paid through payroll for hours worked on a monthly or termly basis. Hours payable include the whole meeting process (emails, calls and agenda preparation, writing up and distributing minutes) and attending regular training events.Experience is desirable but not essential. The School has access to a governor support package which includes training through Richmond Borough (Achieving for Children).Early applications are recommended.
