Job Type: Full Time
Responsible to: Sales Manager
Wycombe Heights Golf Centre is a premier destination offering an exceptional golfing experience with two 18-hole courses, a state-of-the-art TrackMan driving range, a professional shop, a café bar & kitchen, and versatile function spaces. We pride ourselves on being a top choice for golf enthusiasts and event hosts alike, providing a welcoming atmosphere for both a relaxing round of golf and memorable events.
We're looking for passionate individuals to join our team and contribute to creating an outstanding experience for our guests.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving revenue growth at Wycombe Heights Golf Centre. Your responsibilities will include handling enquiries, managing event planning, selling memberships, and building strong customer relationships. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our marketing efforts through social media management, ensuring that our offerings are effectively communicated to both current and potential clients. With a focus on maximising revenue opportunities, you will ensure that each client’s experience is seamless and tailored to their needs, from initial contact through to post-event follow-up. Being part of the sales team, you will be responsible for selling Functions (including celebrations, wedding receptions, meetings, party nights & lunches), Group Golf events and golf memberships.
Key Benefits: Complimentary golf on both golf courses, use of the TrackMan driving range, free meals on duty and a rewarding, uncapped commission scheme across multiple sales streams.
Some evening and weekend work is required; however, a rota will be put in place and overseen by the Sales Manager to ensure that the cover is shared amongst the team and is suitable for business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enquiry Handling & Acquiring Sales: Be the first point of contact for potential clients, answering phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with a professional, friendly, and helpful approach. Respond to enquiries in a timely manner, providing detailed information about our services and event offerings. Maximising opportunities by fully identifying needs and upselling effectively. Document and maintain detailed records of client requirements, preferences, and specific needs within the CRM system to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available for effective follow-up and personalised service.
2. Event Planning: Take ownership of the planning and execution of various events, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. This includes coordinating logistics, liaising with vendors, and managing client expectations. You will ensure all events are tailored to client needs and delivered to the highest standards.
3. Selling Golf Memberships: Promote and sell golf centre memberships, explaining the benefits and features to potential customers. Manage the membership process, from initial inquiry to sign-up, ensuring prospective members are given a great introduction to our offerings.
4. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing personalised solutions. Follow up with clients post-event to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Work closely with internal teams (sales manager, Kitchen team & F&B manager) to ensure seamless event execution. Collaborate to ensure client requirements are clearly communicated, and that all departments are aligned in delivering an exceptional experience.
5. Social Media Management: Take charge of managing and growing the company’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). Create engaging content, including event photos, member testimonials, promotions, and behind-the-scenes content to boost brand awareness and engagement. Monitor social media trends and insights to continuously improve the reach and effectiveness of our online presence.
What we’re looking for in you:
1. Experience in Sales & Event Planning: At least 1 year of experience in sales and event planning, ideally within the hospitality, leisure, or golf industry.
2. Sales Savvy: A natural ability to sell and upsell services, particularly memberships, with a focus on customer satisfaction. You will be passionate about converting leads into successful sales.
3. Organised & Detail-Oriented: You’ll be juggling multiple events at once, so you must have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently. Attention to detail is key to ensuring every event is executed flawlessly.
4. Knowledge of Golf: While knowledge of golf is ideal, it’s not a requirement for this role. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and have a willingness to understand basic golf terms and practices. A small amount of knowledge about the sport is helpful, but most importantly, we value a passion for providing excellent customer service and a proactive approach to learning.
Additional information: This job description has been prepared as a working document to identify the main areas of responsibility. It is not intended to be a definitive statement of duties, nor specifically exclude any tasks which may reasonably be required to be undertaken.
