Job Summary
Within our one of a kind service offering, Autism Unlimited is in search of a Lead Positive Behaviour Therapist to join our therapy team. Since the charity started over 54 years ago, we have made immense progress in supporting children, adults, and their families living with autism!
Our therapy model is made up of a multidisciplinary team including behaviour support practitioners, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and psychotherapists. Working with our therapy leader, this role will play a critical part in our student development, working collaboratively to reach the best possible outcomes for those we support at all times.
Main Duties of the Job
Duties would include:
1. Leading on the delivery of a comprehensive, innovative, and evidence-based behaviour support service that meets the needs of the students and adults, within a Positive Behaviour Model. Delivery will include the assessment of students along with planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions.
2. Planning and development of the PBS service and providing line management to team members.
3. Working in close collaboration with classroom teams, as well as the other members of the Therapy team, in order to provide integrated behaviour support.
4. Promoting expertise and best practice through training, modelling, and staff coaching.
5. Attending student reviews or other relevant meetings to ensure a person-centred approach in collaboration with the team around the student.
6. Participating in continuous professional development through self-directed learning.

Our Ideal Applicant Will Need to Have:
1. Evidence of established specialist skillset in behaviour assessment and management.
2. Demonstrates leadership skills through the use of appropriate management styles, ability to adapt communication, and effective prioritisation and time management skills.
3. Able to work as an effective and co-operative team member and to collaborate successfully with colleagues and Head of Therapy.
4. Effective line management skills evidenced through the ability to coach, support, and performance manage team members.
