The Scope
Our Strategic Projects Group is developing the world's largest modern state-of-the-art Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) plant to be built in Louisiana, which will have the lowest carbon footprint of any other MMA plant globally. As part of the MC project management team, the Lead Planning and Scheduling Engineer is responsible for implementing and managing the planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring activities during lifecycle phases of the project. The role fits within the Project Controls Team and will require close coordination and oversight of the contractor project team.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes
1. Schedule management
1. Develop and maintain level 1 and level 2 project schedules and milestone plans.
2. Ensure project schedules are correctly aligned to the project's Work Breakdown Structure.
3. Ensure contractors' schedules are fully compliant with Mitsubishi requirements.
4. Plan for and manage the validation and risk assessment of the project schedules, including the use of 3rd party market studies or independent auditing/validation activities where necessary.
2. Contractor and processes support
1. Oversee the development, validation, and integration of level 1, 2, and 3 schedules by Contractors.
2. Ensure all project processes and procedures covering the planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring activities are well understood and followed by the project team and all contractors.
3. Validate any schedule implications associated with Management of Change requests from contractors, licensors, and vendors.
3. Monitoring and measuring progress
1. Provide consistent and accurate progress, weekly summary, and monthly reporting including performance dashboards.
2. Support the Contract Manager by ensuring progress performance by contractors is adequately measured and reported against and that all agreed project processes and procedures are being rigorously followed.
3. Support the Information, Data, and Systems Manager to ensure that the status of project document workflow is measured and reported effectively.
4. Review processes
1. Support the Project Control Manager in executing the Project Audit Strategy and administering Lessons Learnt activities and Project Action Tracking.
Requirements
Experience of chemical plant projects, a significant part of which has been on a Top Tier COMAH site.
Cost monitoring and cost reporting experience.
Experienced with planning and scheduling (incl. Primavera P6) and knowledge of SAP.
The ability to influence effectively internal and external customers/stakeholders.
High standards for accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain high standards while meeting strict deadlines.
The plants are classified as 'major hazard plants'; therefore, very high safety, work standards & controls are essential in all aspects of planning.
