NHS Dumfries and Galloway has an opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our small, enthusiastic, and motivated hand team. The service is dedicated to delivering a high-quality innovative service for people with hand conditions and rheumatology.
The post will be working with an outpatient caseload of general MSK, rheumatologic conditions, and orthopaedic referrals including hand conditions of both trauma and elective surgery. We work closely with our colleagues from Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and primary care and pride ourselves on excellent working relationships.
The post includes:
• Functional re-training
• Orthotics, in particular the fabrication of specific thermoplastic splints
• Long term condition management including joint protection, adaptation
• Specific hand therapy programmes
• Health behaviour change
• Vocational rehabilitation
We welcome applications from existing band 6 Occupational Therapists with relevant skills and experience.
