A global manufacturing business based in Birmingham supplying into the world's leading Aerospace and defence Industries. The company is now undergoing significant expansion across its flagship Birmingham site due to a huge influx of demand with key customers and on the back of this growth are seeking an Electrical Maintenance engineer to join their maintenance team.
The role
An Electrical Maintenance Engineer reporting into the Maintenance Manager.
You will take responsibility for:
1. To carry out maintenance, fault finding and repair on electrical systems and to ensure that systems are maintained to the appropriate standard.
2. Performing predictive and preventative maintenance activities and inspections to minimise plant downtime.
3. Electrical fault finding and installations on various equipment.
4. Complying with electrical safe systems of work.
5. Coordinate with manufacturing personnel on plant release, downtime estimates, plant handovers, and possible alternative or compromise solutions.
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
1. Must be apprentice trained or NVQ / HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical engineering or a similar discipline.
2. The ability to use and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings with good knowledge of PLCs.
3. Wiring Regulations 17th Edition or above.
4. Ability to logically fault find.
5. Must be computer literate, organised, self-motivated, have a good attention to detail and a strong communicator.
6. Ideally has heavy engineering or metal industry experience.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
1. Experience working within a heavy industrial engineering environment is highly advantageous.
2. Knowledge or experience working with Allen Bradley would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
3. Experienced in VSD's.
