We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Finance Assistant to oversee a variety of financial functions within Soft FM and Hard FM Operations. This role involves managing the creation of purchase orders, supporting operational teams, reconciling supplier invoices, and providing financial insights for the Royal Stoke & Haywood Hospitals, and the North Division. The role demands precision, time management, and the ability to analyse financial performance across various operational areas.
What you'll do:
* Create purchase orders and support the operational team to meet purchase requirements.
* Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, supporting the Healthcare Finance Hub in reconciliation.
* Reconcile cash for onsite retail units and assist in month-end activities, including accruals and prepayments.
* Produce weekly financial reports highlighting variances in food, non-food, and labour consumption.
* Assist in the management of rechargeable works and ensure timely invoicing for both contractual and ad-hoc services.
* Maintain an accurate ledger of maintenance contracts and advise on upcoming renewals.
* Support the Finance Manager and Assistant Finance Manager with performance analysis and ad-hoc financial tasks.
* Help implement robust financial controls, promote continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with financial policies and deadlines.
What you'll bring:
Basic understanding of financial account entries.
Ability to challenge operational managers and ensure compliance with established procedures.
Skilled in explaining financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Proficient in gathering and analysing data from various sources to generate insightful management information.
Capable of working effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Strong Excel skills, with proficiency in other office applications such as Word and PowerPoint.
