Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team in Nottingham, UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of procurement professionals, maximizing efficiency and contributing to the business's success.
As a key member of our procurement function, you will be accountable for monitoring team performance, ensuring clear ownership and delivery according to agreed plans. This includes tracking cost-saving targets, on-time delivery of goods, and contract coverage.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in indirect procurement, with a strong background in project management, stakeholder management, and customer-focused approaches. Knowledge of maintenance/production processes and basic engineering principles is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the team to achieve agreed KPIs, focusing on cost savings, timely delivery, and contract compliance.
* Manage stakeholders across the business, coordinating projects and working cross-functionally to meet deadlines.
* Collaborate with internal customers to ensure necessary inputs for the Procurement function.
* Maintain strong Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), including contract and performance reviews.
* Work with colleagues to bundle spends and improve efficiency for maximum supplier leverage.
* Support and cover for the Head of Procurement, promoting the added value of Procurement throughout the business.
* Ensure safe working practices both internally and at supplier premises.
* Identify and implement best practices for business improvements.
* Adhere to and promote the Procurement policy within the business.
* Manage both offensive and defensive claims.
Competitive salary: £52,000 - £62,000 + pension + bonus
