Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel, a striking Grade II listed iconic building in the vibrant Spinningfields District, offers 148 stylish hotel rooms and suites with modern amenities. The V&A is the home to Chop & Plant, our casual drinking and dining destination, offering a blend of Chop House classics and plant-based dishes with a focus on local produce and sustainability. What you will be doing:
1. Secure 24 hr and day delegate business through a team of G, C & E Sales Co-ordinators.
2. Work to sales targets and help achieve them.
3. Ensure a full understanding of the hotels’ sales budget for the year to drive business forward.
4. Maintain good knowledge of all Hotel facilities, tariffs, and rates to optimize sales.
5. Conduct key sales show rounds (site visits) with maximum effectiveness.
6. Ensure the office environment and G, C & E Team are highly motivated for sales and target-driven.
7. Focus on G, C & E conversion and ensure all enquiries and correspondence are dealt with efficiently.
8. Contact key clients/enquiries personally to increase business conversion.
9. Attend and report in weekly Sales Strategy meetings.
10. Prepare reports for sales strategy meetings.
11. Attend weekly function sheet meetings to ensure Operations Team understands future business details.
12. Prepare monthly reports for BRM pack as requested by Revenue Manager.
13. Prepare weekly GC&E daily forecasts.
14. Develop knowledge of the local area, local competitors, and regular clientele to enhance guest services.
15. Create the right customer care attitude towards all clients while maximizing client satisfaction.
16. Grow and maintain the G, C & E training and development strategy.
17. Ensure hotel strategies are followed by the GC&E team to maximize occupancy and profitability.
18. Manage the C & E diary to maximize potential revenues.
19. Ensure all team members are cross-trained in both Event & Reservation call handling.
20. Ensure data integrity and accurate reporting for G, C & E enquiries.
21. Ensure relevant deposits are received and all event revenues are charged correctly.
22. Identify and pass on leads/information on new Companies to the Director of Sales.
23. Assist with Familiarisation Tours/Visits/Functions, hosting tables when appropriate.
24. Handle guest comments effectively and report to the Executive Team.
25. Carry out regular appraisals with the team as required.
26. Maintain a close working relationship with the Operational team.
27. Carry out Management on Duty shifts as documented along with weekend management cover as per the DM rota.
