Job Title: Civils Quantity Surveyor Location: Rainham, Essex Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience) The Role: Our client is looking for a talented Civils Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role will involve managing the financial aspects of groundworks and RC Frame projects, from initial cost estimations to final accounts. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing the commercial aspects of projects, including contract administration, procurement, and cost control. Reporting To: Company and Operations Directors Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Prepare and manage accurate cost estimates and budgets for groundworks and RC frame projects, ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle. Contract Administration: Oversee contract documentation, including agreements, variations, and claims, to ensure compliance with contract terms. Procurement: Manage procurement processes, including sourcing materials, equipment, and subcontractors, ensuring the best value for money. Cost Control: Monitor project costs, identify potential cost overruns, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure projects are completed within budget. Measurement & Valuation: Measure and value work done, prepare interim and final valuations, and manage payments. Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess progress, check quality of work, and ensure compliance with contracts and specifications. Reporting: Provide regular updates on project costs, budgets, and forecasts to senior management. Person Specification: Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization. Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and possess strong digital competency. Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience & Qualifications: Required Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, specifically in RC Basements and Frames, Groundworks, Civil Engineering, and Hard Landscaping for commercial, residential, industrial, and retail projects. Educational Qualification: At least 3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying with a Higher level qualification in Quantity Surveying OR At least 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying without a formal qualification in Quantity Surveying.
