An Ofsted-rated GOOD primary school in Sidcup is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their exceptional team on a permanent basis, starting from April 2025. Role Overview: The successful candidate will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs, providing both in-class and one-on-one support. The role will involve supporting children with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop their social skills, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN) across the school.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
* Collaborate with class teachers and other staff to ensure tailored learning support for each child.
* Provide a positive and supportive environment, ensuring that students are engaged, motivated, and feel included.
* Maintain clear communication with parents and carers to ensure the ongoing progress of students.
Requirements:
* Experience of working with children, particularly in a SEN role, is highly desirable.
* A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and an understanding of various SEN conditions.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) or a strong willingness to pursue professional development.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting children’s needs.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
