Matron Assistant - Irvine Unit Rehabilitation
We are looking for enthusiastic Matrons Assistant to join our busy Bexhill Irvine Unit. You will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting the matron. You will be required to work alongside nursing staff, consultants and doctors.
Bexhill hospital is a small community hospital set in a town which has a lot to offer with beautiful sea views, picturesque countryside and is steeped in history. It is easily accessible from both acute sites and offers free parking to both staff and patients. There is good public transport and easy access to local cities and the continent. The Trust can offer professional development and childcare facilities.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will provide efficient administrative and secretarial support to the Matron. This will include:
1. Typing letters and reports as required in a timely fashion.
2. Maintaining electronic diaries.
3. Taking and relaying messages, by phone or in person, and dealing with routine queries.
4. Dealing promptly with incoming and outgoing mail.
5. Entering data accurately on department systems.
6. Assisting with meetings, including room booking, preparation of supporting documents, arranging catering, and taking notes.
7. Assisting with monitoring sick levels and ordering stationery.
8. Assisting in the management of complaint responses.
9. Undertaking general office duties e.g. photocopying, filing, sending/receiving emails.
10. Recording mandatory training, absence, and study leave for the team.
11. Processing travel and other expenses forms.
12. Assisting with other Trust related administration duties relevant to the post, as assigned by the Matron or relevant colleague.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Typing/text processing/data entry skills to RSAII or equivalent or Administration NVQ2 or equivalent skills.
* Evidence of good numeracy and literacy.
* GCSE level A-C including English and Maths.
* ECDL or other recognised IT qualification.
Experience
* Evidence of previous admin or secretarial experience in a busy environment.
* Record keeping and filing systems.
* Prioritisation of workload.
* Use of computerised record systems.
