Toolmaker Location: Gatley Job Type: Full-time Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 2:45 PM Due to growth we are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Toolmaker to join our client, reporting directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor. This role is crucial for operating CNC machining centres, producing a range of materials/components, and ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. Day-to-day of the role: Programme and operate CNC machining centres using a variety of materials such as metal, plastic, and composites. Review technical drawings and data to ensure effective machining and adherence to production engineering standards. Produce CAM data for CNC machining centres, utilising SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Assist in the training and development of apprentices within the team. Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently met. Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures. Occasionally drive the company vehicle for collections and deliveries as required. Support additional tasks during peak periods or as requested by management to meet customer needs. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a complex manufacturing or machining environment. Strong ability to understand manufacturing/design drawings and technical data. Proficient in on-line and off-line CNC programming, with essential knowledge of Delcam Power Mill. Experience with Hurco machining centres and tool making would be advantageous. Excellent IT skills. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with design engineers, project managers, and planners. High attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality standards and tolerances. Flexibility to work overtime or weekend shifts during busy periods.
