Main duties of the job There are new academic opportunities appearing as WAHNT and WHCT have links with the University of Worcester with its Association for Dementia Studies as well as a new medical school that is due to start in 2023 which is focusing on a curriculum emphasis on primary care, long term conditions and rurality. We have become a top priority for the trust and the Health and Care Trust to expand Acute Geriatrics / Frailty assessment on both sites (Worcestershire Royal and The Alexandra Hospital) to include Front Door Frailty Teams, Orthogeriatricians and Surgical Inreach Geriatricians, as well as having Geriatricians in the community who work with both WH&CH and the Acute Trust. Community working would be close with Worcestershire and Hereford STP which are responsible for 7 community hospitals which care for over 200 patients in total between them as well as 14 neighbourhood teams which link primary care, community care and social care.
