The Operations Manager role: As our Operations Manager you will achieve operational targets through the effective organisation of resources across the production and maintenance teams, whilst coordinating inter department activities to meet customer orders and projects, always ensuring compliance to Company policies and procedures. You must satisfy unpredictable short term customer demand by adopting a positive and solution-based attitude. Key responsibilities of our Operations Manager : Leading and developing a multifunctional team Driving a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Liaising with sales and purchasing departments to optimise production and process operations. Developing and delivering on key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational success. Leading change initiatives, driving cost-saving improvements, and enhancing processes. Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to achieve strategic goals. Skills and experience we are looking for in our Operations Manager: Minimum of 5 years in production management gained across relevant industry sectors. A strong demonstrable track-record of developing teams and people. A good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques. Familiar with a high mix/low volume manufacturing environment and how to optimise resources. Able to make clear decisions and work effectively when under pressure. Strong computer skills, including MS Office, in particular Excel and have a working understanding of MRP/ERP planning systems. Organised and can prioritise tasks against tight time constraints. Good communicator (Verbal and written) – empowers people and has gravitas to drive change in a manufacturing environment. maintain a safe and clean working environment ensuring that safety procedures are followed by your team members. Identifying any hazards through risk assessments and agreeing actions to minimise risk to team members. Strong critical thinking skills Provide leadership of your team and your extended team across Production promoting a ‘can do’ positive attitude at all times, developing them into an effective team at all levels. Develop and maintain a positive/cooperative relationship between your team and colleagues. Maintain a positive and professional approach to your daily work activities. Full driving licence.
